Certification, testing and Dubai Civil Defence approval
Fire classification is only meaningful when it names the standard it was tested to, and the approval route it satisfies in the UAE.
Every EI classification we quote is issued against EN 1634-1, the European test method for fire resistance of door, shutter and openable window assemblies, with the resulting performance classified to EN 13501-2. Where a project specification is written to the British or American route instead, the equivalent references are BS 476 Part 22 and UL 10C — a fire consultant will confirm which applies to your building.
In Dubai, the governing document is the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code of Practice, administered by Dubai Civil Defence (DCD). Fire-rated aluminium glazing must be supplied with its approval documentation, and we issue the full pack with every order: the DCD-approved product listing, the certified test report for the tested assembly, the fire door identification label, and the installation and maintenance record required under NFPA 80.
