MB-78EI is the most-specified door in Aluprof’s fire-rated family and the system we recommend first for the majority of UAE projects requiring fire compartmentation. Fabricated locally at our Al Qusais facility from the Aluprof tested specification, so doors are sized to the actual opening on the architect’s drawing — not delivered as fixed-size finished products.

Configurations available

Pick the configuration closest to your project specification — each tile opens a quote request pre-set for that variant.

Where MB-78EI works for UAE projects

Three reasons it sits at the top of our recommendation list for Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

First, documentary compliance. Aluprof publishes test reports from IFT Rosenheim, ITB, and ATG naming MB-78EI by system code and EI class — the certifications UAE consultants ask for when demonstrating Civil Defence compliance with documentary backup.

Second, UK and European testing pedigree. EN 13501-2 (fire classification) and EN 1191 (self-closing) are recognised across the UK and EU. Architects who have specified Aluprof on UK or European projects can carry the same approval package across to the UAE.

Third, integration with the wider envelope. MB-78EI doors fit cleanly into Aluprof MB-118EI fire-rated wall systems and MB-SR50N EI fire-rated curtain wall — so a whole elevation can be specified as a continuous fire compartment without mixing manufacturers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about Aluprof MB-78EI on UAE projects.

Stairwell enclosures, lift-lobby doors, cross-corridor compartmentation, plant-room doors, and fire-rated entrance screens — anywhere the fire strategy calls for EI 30 to EI 90 in a single profile family. It’s the most-specified Aluprof fire door across UAE commercial and hospitality buildings.

The number is the rated minutes the assembly maintains both integrity (resistance to flame penetration) and insulation (heat transfer to the unexposed side), per EN 13501-2. EI 30 holds for 30 minutes; EI 90 for 90. The MB-78EI profile is the same across these ratings — only the glass build-up and intumescent strips change.

Yes. The certification is granted to a complete tested assembly, so fabrication has to follow the manufacturer’s tested specification exactly. Local fabrication at our Al Qusais facility lets us size doors to the actual opening on architect drawings without invalidating certification — something not possible with imported fixed-size finished doors.

EN 13501-2 (fire classification) and EN 1191 (self-closing class C5), with assembly test reports from IFT Rosenheim (Germany), ITB (Poland), and ATG (Belgium). These are the European standards UAE consultants use to demonstrate Civil Defence compliance.

Yes. MB-78EI integrates with the Aluprof MB-78 thermal door family for visual continuity between fire and non-fire openings on the same elevation. For projects already using MB-86 doors, MB-86 EI is the matching fire-rated option.
